This week I have a fascinating chat with Ex-DS Nick Bailey, who became critically ill after becoming contaminated with the chemical weapon Novichok, in Salisbury in 2018. He talks frankly about his police career, the incident, and his difficult decision to leave the police service in 2020 as a result of experiencing severe mental health issues. I also talk about the very inaccurate and flawed representation of policing in Brixton in a new BBC podcast, and I tell you about a rather odd and embarrassing medical procedure that I (and many others) went through in order to become a police officer.
