Nick Adderley has been one of the very few Chief Constables nationally to put his head above the parapet and point out some of the many things that need to change in UK policing. He has a relentless focus on dismantling criminal networks and was the only Chief in the UK to equip all of his frontline officers with Taser to protect them from violent assaults. He has also challenged the Home Office and the College of Policing on the insistence that all new police officers need to either have or obtain a degree.
